5 week bumpdate

8.12.2012

Due to the overwhelming positive response, I will be doing every other week bumpdates.  I am going to do them on Sundays.  Please feel free to skip them if seeing a weird alien belly gives you the willies.  I have every couple week pictures from my pregnancy with Eva also so I will post those along with my current pics to see how different (ie bigger) my belly is the second time around.  I am 5 weeks pregnant today.

How far along? 5 weeks
Size? Sesame seed
Weight gain/loss? 0
Maternity Clothes? Umm, I would hope not.
Stretch Marks? None.
Sleep? Crappy.  I have a hard time going to sleep, wake up and have a hard time going back to sleep, and wake up really early.  Lack of wine?
Best Moment of the Week? All of them.  I am just so excited about having another baby and my Eva is seriously the sweetest toddler ever born.  Oh and having the doctor "confirm" the pregnancy.
Miss anything? Wine.
Movement? Just the beginning of fat movement to my belly.
Food Cravings? Is wine a food?  No?  OK, then carbs, sugar, and cheese.  All my normal cravings.
Anything make you queasy or sick? Nope.
Gender? No idea yet.
Symptoms? My boobs are sooo sore.  I don't remember that happening with Eva (before I had them "enhanced").
Belly button in or out? In still, thank God.
Wedding rings on or off? Off, but that's another story
Mood?  Elated.
Looking forward to? Finding out the gender in 10 weeks.
5 weeks!
(there is a little pooch already that I cant suck in.  Look at it compared to last week below)

  14. Okay so if my body would look that good pregnant or not, I would be so happy. Also, you give me hope for not having morning sickness. I am terrified of that shit.

  21. You can take Unisom (only ingredient should be doxylamine. There are different types so read the package) to help with the sleep issues. I've been taking it along with B6 and it helps with both sleep as well as nausea. Safe in pregnancy, recommended by my OB.

  24. Congratulations!

On the wine aspect... you don't have to give it up completely - as long as the alcohol part is not the only thing you miss.

A friend of mine is taking six months off from alcohol ... but she doesn't want to give up "drinking" so she has been experimenting with mocktails and alcohol free wine.

This summer we tried the following ...
    fre champagne

she found some at Whole Foods, but I note that BevMo has some too ...

...some of them are too sweet, but a little tonic or seltzer water makes them into great alcohol free spritzers!

apparently, there are health benefits too: http://articles.latimes.com/2007/nov/26/health/he-wine26

Maybe the next eight months would be a good time to REVIEW some of these.
