I have been through some pretty difficult things over the past couple years. The most difficult thing is the death of my Mother. It is a persistent, nagging pain and a wound that seems endlessly deep. Currently, I am dealing with a scary, complicated pregnancy that I don't have any control over. Sometimes life is just hard.
The other side of that coin is that my life is good. Really good. My husband works hard. Everyday. My daughter is sweet and smart and healthy. Our house is sturdy and warm and filled with love and laughter.
November is a good month to remember the things that we are thankful for. It's amazing that in the midst of pain and worry, gratitude can still abound.
1. I am thankful for my daughter'ssweet nature. I fully acknowledge that I am lucky that she is generally happy, reasonably even tempered, and usually sweet.
2. My pregnancy pimples are finally beginning to subside.
3. My husband doesn't give me grief about watching all my favorite trashy reality shows (Beverly Hills coming soon, holler!).
What are YOU thankful for this afternoon?
I know exactly how you are feeling, the death of my mom last year was traumatic and I don't think anyone can ever get over something like that. Hugs my friend!!
ReplyDeleteI find the holidays are tough after losing my mom. I try to focus on sharing traditions with my daughter that I shared with my mom. It makes it feel like she is still around. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteThis time of year is the hardest when you remember how empty life seems to be with those who have past.
ReplyDeleteSpend this time to start traditions with your daughter :)
I'm so thrilled for RHOBH. Cannot wait.
I am thankful for having my health, a perfectly sleeping baby right now and my handsome hubby by my side!
ReplyDeleteMuch love to you ~ Hugs!!

I am THANKFUL that my husband is here. That we've been given the chance for our life to resume. Maybe the "thankfulness" that November entails was my sign that I need to recognize the good (he came back Nov. 1) and let go of the everyday annoyances.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great list to be thankful for! I'm thankful that I my niece will be here in a month!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice reminder to slow down in this busy life and count our blessings. Our family has much to be thankful for, also. Enjoy this holiday season- hope you are feeling well!!
ReplyDeleteThis post is so sweet. I'm thankful for a husband that genuinely loves me and would literally do anything for me. And who doesn't judge me for wearing my sweats all day today, thanks to a bit too many shots last night... Whoops.
