Dear tipping rules: I think we are going a bit overboard. I just learned that we are supposed to tip garbage men and mailmen. It never occurred to me that people tip them. I don't have a personal relationship with any of them- I couldn't pick them out of a line-up. They do a JOB that they receive a SALARY for. Why do I have to tip them? Bah humbug.
{while we're talking about trash guys}
Dear Trash Guys: I know it is highly unlikely but I hope one of you find that money that I must have thrown out. It makes me sort of ill to imagine it rotting away in the dump (read here).
Dear Mary Kay mascara: I am pleasantly surprised by you. I am a mascara junkie and usually purchase every new one that comes out at the drug store (I am a junkie but I am not a baller) but this seriously is better. It took the place of my previous number one which was L'Oreal False Fiber Lashes. Try this mascara. It is good for everyday wear. You won't be disappointed. (need a Mary Kay rep? Contact fellow blogger, Dalayna . She is selling them and also Christmas sets for your beauty lover friends! Show her some love).
Dear Dads (What?! There could be ONE Dad reading. No? Yeah, you're probably right): Don't take your toddlers Christmas shopping for Momma's gift if you don't want her to know what you bought. Toddlers love to share secrets. Just sayin'.
Dear wine: I haven't forgotten about you. That I can promise. I miss you. Lots.
Dear Readers: Let's enjoy the heck out of this weekend, shall we? Any big plans? My only plans for this weekend is to eat some Thai Panang curry. Yep. I am pregnant. My goals all revolve around food.

I have never ever tipped a garbage man...probably because they always leave my trash can in the middle of the street!
ReplyDeleteI am also a big Mary Kay mascara fan!
ReplyDeleteHow do you tip the garbage man? I don't understand. We used to sometimes leave baked treats or some kind of gift certificate for the mail man, but that's when we knew him (small town life). Now? Not so much. The only person I tip (besides wait staff) is my hair dresser.
ReplyDeleteAs a Mary Kay consultant, I'm glad you see how much you love Mary Kay mascara. It's a seriously great product.
I have never tipped a garbage man or mail man! I didn't even know that people did. I agree with you, they get a salary. That should cover all bases. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteMy parents always tip the garbage people and post man, but I dont think everyone does.
ReplyDeleteLOVE mascara!
Sooo, i take it you KNOW what you are getting for christmas now ;0
I had no idea I was supposed to tip the garbage man and postman. How does that work? Mail it in to their work address? Run after them and be really awkward? I remember the paper boys used to come ring the doorbell for tips, but that's the only people I can think of outside the service industry that I ever tipped. I have two uncles that are postmen I'll have to ask them what they think.
ReplyDeleteDane comes home this weekend! I'm picking him up at the airport bright and early tomorrow morning :) Have a great weekend pretty lady!
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in West Chester it was almost a requirement to tip the mail man and the garbage man in our subdivision. It was so weird. I had never heard of this.
ReplyDeleteSo we splurged and got everyone Wawa gift cards. Then after the first couple of years I cut that sh** out...We were spending $100 on these guys.
So I made them rice krispy treats instead!

You are too funny!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were supposed to tip the mailman and trash people. That is just absurd to me. Do people tip teachers??? Yea, nope. Where is my tip? :)
I hope you have a great weekend! We are celebrating our daughters 1st birthday this weekend!
I don't tip the garbage man or mail man. I know a few letter carriers, and they like receiving baked goods, but they don't expect it.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear that the baby is growing! That is awesome!
What? You have got to be kidding me about tipping them! I'm a Scrooge though, I don't even tip Sonic carhops because they make minimum wage and I don't feel like they need tips.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sad that you never found your money : (
Tipping a garbage man :p oookay! Hmm, this weekend? It's all about Christmas plays, work Christmas party, couple time, and church :) I'm glad to hear that you little bebe boy is growing nice and big, yay!
ReplyDeleteI do not tip the trash man OR the mailman. I have never heard of this either except my neighbor is always pushing people to get their mailman a gift card or something small for Christmas. To me thats unnecessary. They are getting paid to do their job and ours doesn't even do his job THAT good. (her dad is a mailman)
ReplyDeletehahahaha yeah can't take kids christmas shopping. First thing my kid does is go "MOM DADDY GOT YOU FLOWERS!!!"

Still haven't found your money huh. I was really thing you might have found it when I read the title, sorry. I have a sample of that mascara, must try it soon :)
ReplyDeleteI have never tipped a garbage man or mailman!! One year we gave our mailman a box of chocolates and a Christmas card though, just because we had like 30 packages that all got delivered to our house (the downside of living in Alaska, EVERYTHING is mail order) within a matter of 3 weeks...but we never regularly tip him!
ReplyDeleteTipping garbage and mail men? Ridiculous!!!
ReplyDeleteSooooo good to hear that baby boy is measuring ahead. Awesome!
Love love love my mascara from Mary Kay. It rocks for real. Oh heck no on tipping mailmen and trashmen. I mean they aren't doing anything different or special for me. And soooo happy about little man! Keep growing little dude.
ReplyDeleteI personally love food plans!! MK mascara is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea I was supposed to be tipping mail and trash personnel... I used to give the mailman that worked in my old neighborhood a Christmas present but that was just because we became friends with him!
ReplyDeleteSo I'm guessing Eva told on daddy about his gift? Haha
ReplyDeleteIn hawaii we give our garbage men beer and the mailman a gift card.... back in the day when men actually picked up garbage they used to follow tgw truck around at Christmas with another truck just for their beer. Can you imagine their company holiday parties??
