Letters to the universe 1.24

1.25.2013

Dear Maryland: See you tonight.  I know you're in the middle of a snow storm and it's in the teens but please take it easy on me.  I can almost feel the bitter cold just imagining getting off the airplane.  I will try my hardest not to compare you to California once I get back but just know that I still can't believe that people actually choose to live there if given the choice.
{my front yard last night}
Dear Delta: You failed us pretty bad this time around.  Between the plane being turned around and sent back to the airport and then delayed for hours and lost luggage the first time around to the CANCELLED flights home today, you pretty much sucked big time but thank you for leaving me stranded at home and not at my connecting flight destination.

Dear Eva: I am a little scared to learn that you inherited your Dadda's need for speed.  We are in trouble in 14 years (unless of course you also inherited your Dadda's love of stealing family members cars to joyride through the neighborhood.  In that case, I am scared for us in 10 years).
Dear Husband: Thank you for being so patient.  And for working everyday so I can take off to play with my sisters for weeks at a time.  And for pretending I am not a huge, lumpy, cellulitey mess when I say things like, "OMG, I am so f ing huge already".  And letting me stay home with my babies.  And for never giving me a hard time about anything.  Ever.

Dear Bethenny Frankel and Jason: Keep it together.  Don't use your kid as a weapon in your divorce.  How about instead of trying to "win" the divorce, you put your daughters needs and best interests first and stop fighting over her.  Idiots.

Dear wine: I miss you.

  8. I applaud your 'divorce' comment. It's rare to see women give this advice to those going through the 'big D.' It just shows you're full of grace Jamie.
    By the way, you look like you have a fun future ahead of you with the little Miss behind the wheel!

  9. So glad you are back! Next time you are in Cali we are meeting up tho.. Miss Eva will throw her own twist into what she inherited. It's going to be amazing to watch her grow up.. ALL THAT SNOW!! WOW! Going from 70* weather to that.. wow. No envy. Delta does suck, but at least you weren't stranded like you said.

    Glad you are home!!

    I have to agree about Bethany and Jason. I hate when people use their kids in their divorce, it's just disgusting!

  15. I definitely don't understand choosing to live in the cold tundra. I mean, I'm married to a guy from the north who misses cold and snow, but yeesh... so not me, haha!

  18. Dang, Bethenny and Jason really are getting divorced? I heard they were somewhere, but then watched a marathon of their show last weekend and it seemed like they were working things out. Lame.

  19. OooH yay! Glad I came across your blog! New follower... ps. What's with the volitile divorce?! You'd think having a lifetime supply of skinny girl vodka and wine would make things go very smoothly...
