Little things

6.13.2014

With everything going on in life, it is important to remember the little things that make it all worth while...

It's the little things: An afternoon at the park feeding the ducks and geese and all of their babies.  The baby geese were everywhere and had absolutely zero fear of us.  Considering the Momma's weren't happy that they were getting so close, it was a bit freaky.  Luckily (or unluckily, I suppose), my kids have no fear.

It's the little things: A new pack of bobby pins.  I buy about a pack a month.  Someday I am going to stumble upon a mountain of bobby pins, socks, and chapsticks somewhere in this house.
***

It's the little things: Little girl hair that is long enough to braid.  It is her new favorite thing.
***

It's the little things: A small break from our very wet last week or so.  We will be able to spend this Father's Day weekend outside, just as he would like.

Happy Father's Day weekend!  I hope you enjoy your little things this weekend!

  2. Loving all the little things. I sweat my headbands sprout legs and walk! I keep wondering who is taking them. Something tells me my little one has a hiding place somewhere in the house.

Have an awesome and dry father's day weekend!

  3. I was once chased by a swan at a park like that so now I am terrified! But I remember as a kid loving to feed the ducks.

  15. It really is the little things sometimes. Especially when we're all caught up in every day life, we forget to "stop and smell the roses". I love her little braid. It''s teeny tiny like my Dannika's braids...lol.

  18. It is the little moments. . Feeding ducks bread is bad because the food has little nutritional value and can harm ducklings’ growth, pollute waterways and attract rodents and other pests. Similarly, ducks should not be fed any products that are spoiled or moldy; different types of mold can be fatal to waterfowl. As omnivorous birds, ducks will eat a great deal of different foods, and the best foods to offer ducks include:

    Cracked corn
    Wheat, barley or similar grains
    Oats (uncooked; rolled or quick)
    Rice (cooked or uncooked)
    Milo
    Birdseed (any type or mix)
    Grapes (cut in half)
Frozen peas or corn (defrosted, no need to cook)
    Earthworms
    Mealworms (fresh or dried)
Chopped lettuce or other greens or salad mixes
    Vegetable trimmings or peels (chopped)
